Soprano solo accompanied by conventional concert band: 2 Flutes, 2 Oboes, 3 Clarinets, Alto & Bass Clarinet, Bassoon, Eb Alto Saxophone, Bb Tenor Saxophone, Eb Baritone Saxophone, 3 Trumpets, 4 F Horns, 3 Trombones (2 Tenors, 1 Bass), Baritone (BC), Baritone (TC), String Bass, Basses, Percussion I, Snare Drum.
Also included are parts for brass band instruments: 4 Eb Horns, 3 Bb Trombones (TC), Eb Basses (TC), and Bb Basses (TC).
INSTRUMENTAL RANGES: All Clarinets are back and forth over the break, 1st Trumpet up to B, 2nd space above the staff, Trombones up to F above Middle C, but the part hovers in that range throughout much of the piece.
TECHNICAL AND MUSICAL CHALLENGES:
The clarinets have a recurring melodic line that has a few awkward fingerings. The low brass have a repetitive rhythmic figure that may become a bit tiring.
