These two pieces by the great masters of the late Renaissance were originally composed for a capella choir.
Introduces students to a late Renaissance-early Baroque style seldom played by concert bands but so well suited to them. There are no significant technical demands, but it requires consistent and thoroughly controlled tone production. Another educational feature of these pieces is helping the students become accustomed to playing purely contrapuntal music in which all the individual lines are quite distinct from one another but of equal importance.
