FREE Music Teacher Report

"Music Conducting Tips; Stop Wasting Time & Start Playing More Music"

Do you despise wasting time? I do too. So with my 'inside connections ' I convinced Carl that he should pry some of his hard won music teaching wisdom out of his brain and put it down for the rest of us to benefit from. Not only that but I convinced him he should do it for free. (I LOVE FREE!)

Like you I have been out in the trenches trying to get good rehearsals out of less than enthusiastic music program participants. Teaching conditions, music budgets and materials were often subterranean. How about attempting to balance work, music teaching, and having a good life? Yep, like you I've been handling that one for a while too.

Carl Hammond's credits include conducting bands and orchestras, teaching music, performing on piano & trombone, musical composing, and arranging music on a worldwide stage. And he's done it for over 40 years, so there are definitely some things he can share that could make life better for the rest of the band music, jazz music, chamber music and music teaching populations.

With that idea we have put up a FanPage of all things musical that we have found useful. Musically interesting articles, links, audio and more are there to expand your mind. And please join in the fun with your contributions too.

Carl's Special Report along with other goodies is available if you subscribe here. You'll then have access to the Members Only sectionof our Fanbook. There's a whole set of Free Reports just for you! If this appeals to your enquiring mind hit 'special report'. Snippets of good usable music teaching advice will magically appear after your opt-in.

Carl Hammond divides his time on an international stage in the US, Chile and other musical compass points.

His career has spanned playing trombone and piano with a galaxy of big name artists like Bob Hope, Ray Charles, Rosemary Clooney, Ginger Rogers, Bobby Vinton, Frankie Avalon and numerous other entertainers.

(Not to mention Sinatra. No, not Frank. A lot of musicians have played with him. This is Joe Sinatra, parts manager of the Opel dealership. Carl backed him up on accordian and kazoo on his soon to be his legendary gigs at the' Rolling Pin Bowling Alley Bar and Grill.' )

Then there was all that music played and recorded with numerous groups in LA, Toronto, Sydney and London.

Conducting and writing music for jazz groups, opera companies, and orchestras including St Petersburg Russia has been a delight for him and audiences alike. Since his earlier conducting teacher was a student of Berg, Webern and Klemperer he is pretty good at it.

When not swimming upstream with other commitments he has also had the responsibilities of being a professor in university music departments in Toronto Canada, Australia, and the United Sates. He has taught composition, arranging, conducting, music education, Jazz improvisation, choir, wind ensemble, orchestra, concert band, and musical theater.

Somewhere along the line he made the time to both collect a Phd. in Composition and write a full musical entitled REM. His own compositions are featured in a number of recordings. Whole concerts and recordings have been devoted to just his works. He was the winner of the Jazz composition of the year in Australia for "Lagrimas de Alegria" (Tears of Joy) for stage band.

Before his recent move to Chile, he was working too hard with a number of activities and as the Head of the Music Dept for the prestigious Coronado School of the Arts in San Diego. Since his wife couldn't clone him she devised a cunning plan to see him occasionally. She convinced him to slow down and move to South America. Of course it backfired he is just as busy as before. Groups playing his works, writing commissioned works, conducting, arranging and having great fun playing piano.
